Habitus |
Erect annual usually branched from base but often one stem "domineering" and up to 1,50m. tall. Stems and leaf-edges often reddisch (as in the calyx in basal part). Plant covered with spiny hairs. Corolla yellow with a brownish-red "eye". This plant is a typical "ruderal" species: grows in (old) lands, along roadsides, fallow land an locally often very frequent. Widespread in the Transvaal.
