Fringing Raphia swamp, apparently distributed along a very narrow pattern, coinciding with the permanent high water mark of the swamp in the forest.

| Habitus |
Very ornamental plants, bearing a large tuft of bright grassy green leaves on a single erect main stem, up to 4m tall, rarely forked. Infructescence borne stiffly erect, pustulate dull pale olive green, fruits yellow-orange and shiny.
